Tom Bull (b. 1995, Northamptonshire, UK) is a London-based artist working across sculpture, video, and installation. His practice explores the uneasy relationship between urban and rural life, drawing on materials and techniques from vernacular architecture, aspirational design, countercultures, folk horror, heavy industry, and rural craft. Using materials including steel, timber, cardboard, expanding foam, bitumen and found objects, he constructs hybrid forms shaped by opposing conditions such as hedonism and restraint, escapism and reality, desire and violence, and tradition and transformation.

Bull’s recent work focuses on ideas of country life, examining how land, loss, community, nostalgia, access, labour, and control are shaped and contested. His sculptures are layered and complex, engaging with lived experience rather than simply representing it. They do not seek to resolve life’s uncertainties but instead draw attention to them, giving form and presence to the tensions and anxieties they produce.

Bull graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins (2018) and an MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London (2022). He has completed large-scale commissions for institutions including Turf Projects, London (2023), and Yetea Museum, Chilgok, Korea (2023). Solo exhibitions include OUTPOST Gallery x St Chads, Norwich (2025); Mucciaccia Gallery, London (2025); and E-WERK, Freiburg (2023). Recent group exhibitions include Collectible x Max Radford, Brussels (2025); Cob Gallery, London (2024); General Expenses, Mexico City (2023); and South London Gallery (2022). He is a recipient of the Elephant Trust Award (2024), New Contemporaries (2022), the Gilbert Bayes Grant (2022), and the Thomas Scholarship, UCL (2020).
